Cannot update WordPress version on Windows 10

Howdy!

Trying to upgrade WordPress. Both wp-admin and local app methods fail. This is just a standard install on Windows 10.

What issue or error are you experiencing?

Click on Update to 6.4.1 on local app causes error banner: Uh-oh! We ran into an issue when trying to update WordPress.

Inside wp-admin I get

Downloading update from https://downloads.wordpress.org/release/wordpress-6.4.1-new-bundled.zip…

The authenticity of wordpress-6.4.1-new-bundled.zip could not be verified as no signature was found.

Unpacking the update…

Verifying the unpacked files…

Preparing to install the latest version…

The update cannot be installed because your site is unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.: xmlrpc.php, wp-login.php, wp-settings.php, wp-mail.php

Installation failed.

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

On the site for the Local app choose Update next to the WordPress version

From the Updates section of wp-admin choose the update button to receive the message above.

I’m seeing messages like this in the logs:

 The update cannot be installed because your site is unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.

It seems like you’re still running into Permissions issues like mentioned over here:
