Can't Launch Site / Local's Router Is Having Trouble Starting Error

I have installed Local and connected it to my Flywheel account.

I then pulled one of my sites down and I am unable to view the local site in the browser (or any site I pull from Flywheel to Local for that matter).

I am getting the error “Heads-up! Local’s router is having trouble starting.”

I have already tried switching the router mode from Site domains to Local.

I also used the terminal to check what else was running on port 80 per the troubleshooting documentation but there was nothing.

Please help!

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hey @cpmedia! Do you get the same thing if you create a new, blank site in Local? Or is it just when you’re working with this specific site you just pulled down?

What about a good old reboot have you tried that yet?

It is doing it on all sites.

Just tried a new, blank site and the same error is present.

Also tried a good ol restart and I’m still getting the same errors.

Is your hardware issued by your employer? Could there be any permission or access issues?

If this is a personal device, are you running other developer applications simultaneously? Apps like MAMP, XAMPP, or Docker for example.

Any additional security applications?

This is my personal device.

And I have zero other developer applications or security applications.

Weird I thought I did on the original post.

In your local log the most recent error is a permission denied one similar to what this user was running into. So you might try the steps outlined by Ben there to look into that further and ensure there is a folder set up with permissions that Local can use:

I followed the instructions in the post you sent and I am no longer getting that router error.

However, I still cannot open any sites as I am getting a privacy error (see attached).

What now?

Note: I already have the SSL set to Trusted and it is still not working.

This is just a warning. You can click on Advanced and Proceed to get to your site, but we have some additional SSL troubleshooting steps as well as MacOS specific ones on the links below:

That did the trick! I had to add the Local folder manually and then grant Full Access to the Local created SSL in Keychain Access.

Thanks for the help!

UPDATE: @Nick-B I am still having issues. Now I cannot save anything on the site and am getting a HTTP code 405 error.
