Can't update to WordPress 6.9

WordPress 6.9 - “Uh-oh! We ran into an issue when trying to update WordPress.”

I have a site currently running WP 6.8.3 / PHP 8.2.23 / Nginx and I get that message when I click “Update to 6.9”

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hi @tjhickey! Since you’re on Windows you might check if antivirus or something is preventing the update. We have a Windows Troubleshooting guide below that goes over some common items worth looking over. For example, ensure that Local is running as an administrator, that there are no security blockers, and that Local has access to update the Hosts file.

As a workaround you can try clicking on Site Shell underneath your site’s name in that screen, and then run the command wp core update --version=6.9 --force
