Different site display between pages

Issue Summary

My site looks different on the Themes page vs. edit Home page and very different/empty on the Visit site page. I have no clue why or how to make them consistent. Also, should I be able to edit regular text on the themes page?

Troubleshooting Questions

This has been an issue for all 7 sites I’ve tried starting. Sometimes it looks more similar than the example below, but even then none of the pages exactly mimic the preview.

The closest it seems I can get is if I choose no theme and do nothing to it (leaving it at the bird one).

Replication

Here are my image examples. To replicate start a new site and choose a theme, maybe write something then see if they display the same across pages.
