EEXIST errors when starting site, but it starts anyhow

What issue or error are you experiencing?

When I start the site I get

Uh-oh! Unable to start site.
Error: EEXIST: file already exists, mkdir ‘/Users/jonplummer/Library/Application Support/Local/run/router/nginx/conf/includes’

Followed by another error

Uh-oh! Unable to swap services.
Error: EEXIST: file already exists, mkdir ‘/Users/jonplummer/Library/Application Support/Local/run/router/nginx/conf/includes’

After "OK"ing both of these errors the site runs fine. So it’s not broken per se, just inconvenient.

System Details

  • Local Version:
    Version 7.2.1+6433
  • Operating System (OS) and OS version:
    MacOS 14.0 (23A344)

I don’t know when this started; it has been an issue for at least several weeks, and I edit the site weekly. It may have started when I changed computers, using Migration Assistant to copy everything from one computer to the other.

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hi @jplummer

Is this just on this specific site? If you create a new, blank site on Local does that open normally?

Something you might try is reimporting this site to see if that resolves the issue. The steps would look like this:

  • Locate the site files on your machine, and save a copy of them to your desktop. If you click Go to Site Folder under your site name it should take you right to where they are located.
  • Once you have those copied, completely delete the site from Local
  • Restart Local/your machine
  • Reimport the site back into Local. You can refer here on how to Restore from only Local site files

After a few runs this is no longer happening. :person_shrugging:
