I am unable to connect to WP Local and log in, after I updated my Mac to lastest software

What issue or error are you experiencing?

I installed Local and it was working fine. I updated to lastest OS version for my mac, and since then I am unable to log into Local, or connect to my server. When I try to connect to server, it goes to this URL (http://localhost:49054/callback) and never loads. When I try to log into my Local account which I created, I get this message that says:

Failed to obtain access token.
**Whoops!**
We encountered an error while trying to log you in.
Please close this page and try again.

I did also start using VPN today, and I will have to stay on it as it is required by my job. It is called Global Connect.

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hi @sabmatthews

Unfortunately, the VPN is the likely culprit here. Can you at least test with it disabled to rule it out or confirm it’s the issue?

When I was trying to disconnect from VPN it was requiring a passcode which I do not have. I have reached out to my company’s IT team to also investigate on their end regarding VPN blockage. Stay tuned!

Sounds good! Thank you @sabmatthews :green_heart:

Hi Nick, I was able to confirm this is VPN related. Thanks so much for your prompt response!

Glad to hear you were able to get to the bottom of it! Thank you for the update @sabmatthews
