Increasing Memory/Cores of VM

I’ve increased the memory and cores (to 2) directly in VirtualBox hoping that it would apply to my Local sites. I am using @ini_set to set memory limit to this limit. I thought it would be good to get a final answer on what the best process is for increasing performance of Local.

Note, I also disabled xdebug.

That’s the best way to increase the CPU and memory at this time.

We are going to be releasing an update soon that vastly increases the performance (1s loading time going to 500ms on very heavy sites). It is macOS only though.

How do you increase the memory and core? Mine is grayed out.

You might need to power off the VM first. If you’re in VirtualBox you can right-click on it then go to Close » ACPI Shutdown.
