I’m using 2.2.4 on a Mac requests are incredibly slow (~1 minute per page load). Its to the point where local is unusable.
I’ve tried the following:
- Restarting computer
- Restarting the site/VM
- Enabling, disabling Faster Docker Images
- Enabling, disabling IPv6 loop back
- Enabling, disabling dev mode
- Increasing VM memory
I have a dev site on linode and this is not the issue there.
@eanderson – Knowing some details about your Mac’s hardware would probably be helpful to the Flywheel team in seeing if they can help you out.
@eanderson — Have you tried with the last version of Local (v2.3.3)?
Thanks, I have not - I booted it up on a windows machine with the same slowness, so I’m assuming that its related to the DB/Code. But I’ll give 2.3.3 a try - I didn’t see anything in the changelog that touched on performance.
Thanks -
- 2017 Macbook Pro running OS 10.13.4
- 2.6 GHz i7
- 16 GB 2133 MHz DDR3 Ram
For the VM I’ve allowed for up to 3 GB RAM, I’ll try bumping this up to 4GB this weekend.
I’m also going to be looking into plugins/DB queries as I mentioned in another post this slowness is also happening on a Windows Machine.
@eanderson
Man, 1 minute response times are real slow. I’m sorry to hear that! It looks like you’ve done quite a few things to get it faster. I wonder if you will get any improvements by upgrading to 2.4.0. The Preferred environment has MySQL 5.7 and since you mentioned looking into the queries, I wanted to point that out.
