Live Links Were Working Yesterday and Now They Do Not. Help?

What issue or error are you experiencing?

When I run local as an administrator, I get prompted for my (Live Link) credentials. When I supply them and hit “Enter” I get a blank page with a tiny “404” in the upper left-hand corner of the browser window. If I do not run local as an admin, there is no prompt. I have one main site. In an effort to trouble shoot, I created a new site with the default theme twenty-four. No change. I have cleared the cache, restarted the sites, restarted local and restarted my PC. I switched from site domains to localhost which was a disaster, so I switched it back. The site loads beautifully locally.


What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Changing the router mode definitely wouldn’t help here since Localhost doesn’t work for Live Links, only Site Domains.

When you get to the 404 page if you open up the Dev Console do you see any errors that might indicate where the problem is? If you see anything in there like mixed content type errors you might check our troubleshooting section for Live Links here:

It looks like this is a multisite as well. Did you build this in Local with our guide or did you manually import it in?

The issue was resolved by my regenerating the site URL for the Live link. Either that or it self-resolved as if by magic. :wink:

Incidentally, none of the possible causes you mentioned were applicable in my case but I will keep them in mind for later.
