Local and Updraftplus and Siteground

I am new to WordPress. I have used Local by Flywheel to develop my WP site on my computer. I now want to migrate it to my Siteground domain using the Updraftplus Premium plugin with Migrator. But before I buy the Updraft plugin I want to make sure it will work. Are there any known issues using Updraft to migrate a Local site? In general, and specifically if anyone has experience using it on Sitegeound. Thanks.

Hi Monad,

I’ve migrated sites from SG to Local, can’t remember if I’ve done it in reverse. I’ve always done it without the migrator plugin by doing a search and replace of the db once the restore has been successful - but that can be a bit of a pain. If you are just starting, getting their migrator plugin is probably a good idea.

I haven’t personally run into any issues with UpdraftPlus and SG.

Thanks, that’s good to hear. I also heard back from UpdraftPlus support and they said they have a few customers that use Updraft with Local and no problems they’re aware of. Looks like I will give it a try. Thanks again.
