Issue Summary

Can’t delete backups made with Cloud Backup addon

Troubleshooting Questions

  • Does this happen for all sites in Local, or just one in particular?
    Yes

  • Are you able to create a new, plain WordPress site in Local and access it in a Browser?
    Yes

Replication

Make a cloud backup with addon in Local. Delete folder from Google drive. Unable to delete backup from Local app, or create new/incremental backups from there. Don’t want to remove Local from computer due to risk of projects not being there on reinstallation.

System Details

  • Which version of Local is being used?
    6.0.0

  • What Operating System (OS) and OS version is being used?
    macOS Catalina 10.15.7

Hey @makebelieve, Welcome to the Local Community Forums and sorry for missing this topic!

This definitely feels like an area where cloud backups can be improved. I’m make a note for the devs to take a look at this!

I’m curious – can you right-click on a site in Local, select “Export” and then import that zip into a new site in Local?

I’m thinking that this will appear to be a new site for the Backups addon, and then you should be able to create new backups for that new site.

Can you give that workflow a try and let me know how it goes?
