Glad to hear the Beta release worked! Rest assured we don’t ship anything malicious with our application but false positives can occur. We should have a new release out soon with the same changes in the Beta. For now you can continue to utilize it if you wish.
I am having this same issue. I haven’t re-set up everything using the beta yet, hoping I don’t need to. I can’t access any of my connected sites, which is halting some work.
I’m having the same issues with all of my sites. Can’t push or pull to WP Engine – errors like: “Local couldn’t load the file list!” and “Uh-Oh! we ran into an issue when pulling from WP Engine.” I tried downgrading to 8.1 and upgrading to the 8.3 Local Beta, but get the same errors in both.
Glad to hear things are working for you @Niall and @breklinAmsive! We hope to have the new release out soon but are still doing some troubleshooting with users that having seen success with the Beta yet.
Along those lines, @nkoblitz and @jacob700dev are you still having issues when using the Beta?
@jacob700dev could we get your Local logs to investigate with? @nkoblitz I will pass yours along to the dev team for further insight.
Glad to hear it! If you want to keep working in the Beta your best bet will be to just export a site from your Local app and import it into the Beta. Or you can pull down a fresh copy from WPE as long as you don’t have any changes or updates you need.
Mine just started working again out of the blue last Thursday/Friday. However, I am using 8.2.1 (not Beta). I do have to ‘Connect host’ every time I open Local now, but I am NOT complaining since I am able to push and pull sites again.
The error Local is throwing states that we’re attempting to use an SSH key that is already in use/not unique. Local is responsible for creating and sending that key to WP Engine when pushing and pulling, and it is deleted both locally and on WP Engine when a user disconnects from WP Engine. While we diagnose why this is happening, here’s a potential work around:
Disconnect Local from WP Engine (log out inside of Local within Preferences > Connected Accounts)
Delete unused SSH keys from WP Engine Portal (https://my.wpengine.com/profile/ssh_keys → If the key starts with Local Connect for… you’re safe to delete - Local will regenerate it the next time it tries!)
Delete unused SSH keys from your machine - delete the Application Support/Local/ssh (Mac) / AppData\Roaming\Local\ssh (Windows) folder from your machine. Again, Local will regenerate on the next push!
Try connecting Local to WP Engine again in the Connect process and try pushing or pulling your site. This will trigger Local to generate and submit a new, hopefully unique, key!
