Local password

What issue or error are you experiencing?

Hi there,
I am having an issue with logging in to my local profile to launch my first site (see 1st screenshot attached). There is a local password prompt, when I put the password I’ve created from LOCAL account on their website, and error message appears.

So, my first website can’t be installed.

I’ve tried to reset few times my password from LOCAL website online (not from the software), it does not work. I can see this long password that cannot be changed (see screenshot)

Can you please help me understand what to do to resolve this problem?
thanks a lot
Emilie

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Hi, @EMILEB, and sorry for the confusion here!

Click “Fix It”, then enter your Mac username and password when prompted (not your login details for the Local website).

The username should be the full name you see when logging into your Mac, the same one that appears in System Settings → Users & Groups.

You should then see the “missing hosts” notice disappear after a short time.

Hi @nickc, thanks so much for your quick reply and your help ! it works indeed
