LocalWP Not Opening on Windows

Hello,
I use LocalWP on Windows. Until this morning, the program was working completely fine, but now when I click on its icon, nothing happens. No window opens, and no error message is displayed.

I’ve experienced this issue once before, and I had to uninstall and reinstall the app. Although I had backed up my site, after reinstalling LocalWP, my previous site did not reappear. This time, I don’t want to uninstall Local again—please let me know what I can do to fix it without reinstalling.

Steps I’ve already taken:

· Deleted Cache folders
· Deleted lightning-services
· Removed the lockfile
· Restarted Windows

Please guide me on how to resolve this issue.

Hi @mohamad!

You’ll want to make sure some permissions or security settings didn’t change on your device. We have a Windows Troubleshooting guide below that goes over some common items worth checking. For example, ensure you’re running Local as an administrator, that you don’t have any security blockers, and that Local has access to update your Hosts file.

If you do still need to uninstall/reinstall, you should be able to search your device for your Local Sites folder and copy and save your site from there.
