Need help importing from Live site

What issue or error are you experiencing?

I have read this forum for 2 weeks, trying to get any of my 40 Live sites to work on Local. I have installed Local on 4 different computers, used 6 different versions of Local. I have tried Wp Migrate Lite, All in one Migration, Migrate Guru, WPVivid - I have also tried manually importing. I can get /wp-contents/ moved but anything with the database creates a slew of errors ranging all over the place. Nothing seems consitent. I’ve even spent a few hours with ChatGPT Wordpress GPT trying to help and I still am not having any luck.

I would love this solution to work as I recently found out about Static Websites and I would love to develop offline and kick out a static site. No more Malware/Viruses. I’m all in. I really really really want this solution to work.

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Basically it all seems to boil down to the databases. Maybe I’m not fully understanding the find and replace function?

System Details

  • Local Version:

Tried all of the v8 variants and all of the v9 variants

  • Operating System (OS) and OS version:

I’ve tried it on High Sierra, Catalina and Sonoma

Local Logs

Attach your Local Logs here (Help Doc - Retrieving Local’s Log)

Could get this if needed but right now the errors are random. The thing is I import and on the bottom right it says please upload a valid zip file and then deletes the site.

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Made a little progess, I download the entire site using wp migrate lite and then unzip, delete a bunch of plugins and then zip again, but I get some SQL errors but the site loads, just when I try to login there is no username or password, so I change that in the adminer and then change the wp-config file but then the whole website is broken. So close…
