Title: Need Help Transferring WordPress Page from LocalWP to WP Engine and Unable to Access Local Website

Hello everyone,

I hope you’re doing well. I’m encountering two issues related to transferring my WordPress page from LocalWP to WP Engine, and I’m seeking assistance from the community to help me resolve them.

Firstly, when attempting the transfer, I receive the following error message:

“TypeError: cannot read properties of undefined (reading ‘charAt’) Stack Trace; …”

I haven’t made any changes or modifications beyond setting up my WordPress page in LocalWP. This error occurred when I tried to initiate the transfer to WP Engine. I’m unsure why this error is appearing and would appreciate any guidance on troubleshooting and resolving it.

Additionally, after encountering this error, I am no longer able to access my local website through LocalWP. It seems to have become inaccessible, and I’m not sure how to regain access.

I am looking for assistance in resolving both of these issues: successfully transferring my WordPress page to WP Engine without the aforementioned error, and restoring access to my local website through LocalWP.

If anyone has experienced similar problems or has suggestions on how to troubleshoot these issues, your input would be highly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and assistance!

Best regards,

Limun

Hey @Limun, Welcome to the Local Community Forums!

Can you give us a few more details about what’s going on?

  • What version of Local are you using?
  • What Operating System and OS version is being used?
  • Can you please provide your Local Log? See this Help Doc for instructions on how to do so:
  • Does this happen for all sites in Local, or just one?
  • Are you able to create a new, plain WordPress site?

1: I use veri use version 7.0.2+6395
2: WIndows
3: local-lightning.log (145.8 KB)
4: it happend just for one
5. I’m able to create a new plain WP site

Hi @Limun

What Windows version are you on? 7, 8, 10, 11 for example

Can you try the following steps to see if they resolve this issue?

  • Create a zip export of the site, or copy the site files to ensure you have a version saved
  • Delete and wipe the site from your Local app
  • Re-import a zip copy of the site into Local to get it reset
  • If you can access it, reset your WPE credentials and attempt another push:
Troubleshoot: Connect to WP Engine - Local
