No .git files/folders coming down when pulling a site from WP Engine

What issue or error are you experiencing?

When I pull a site down from WP Engine, I no longer have the git files in my themes or plugins which means I am having to pull the site and then reinit git in them?

I checked settings and they are not in the exclusion filter as they are just the zip defaults

Once I have the site I can use the push/pull function and no issues, but the initial clone does not identify the required git files

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Local ignores .git files by default when using Local Connect. You can read the full path exclusion list here:
