Safe to manually update v3.3.0 to v5.2.1?

Hi,

I have version v3.3.0 running on Mac, however, it says no updates available.

I see v5.2.1 was just released - is it safe to manually update to v5.2.1 without affecting my current local sites/data?

Yup! It’s safe to install/upgrade Local 5.2.1. Just a note, Local is a separate application from Local by Flywheel so you will need migrate the sites from Local by Flywheel to Local.
