Ubuntu26.04 + Local 10.1.1 non si avvia

What issue or error are you experiencing?

Hi, I installed local-10.1.1-linux.deb on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS; I resolved all the associated dependencies, and the installation was successful. I created a site, logged into WP to check if it would open, and uploaded a theme (OceanWP)—everything was fine. Then I closed the site and exited Local. I reopened it to test if everything was working; everything was fine in WP, with no error messages. I closed and reopened it a third time—still fine. After closing Local, I shut down Ubuntu. When I turned the system back on and clicked the Local icon, nothing happened; I couldn’t get in anymore. I tried restarting Ubuntu, but the problem persisted.

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

It includes a fix for MySQL on Linux that may help with Ubuntu 26.

Hi Nick, thanks for the reply. I followed your suggestion: I completely removed Local 10.1.1 and then installed Local 10.1.2, but unfortunately, the problem persists. Everything works right after installation, but when I shut down Ubuntu and restart the system, the Local window no longer opens. I look forward to your advice. Thanks, Lukas

Please could you try launching Local from the command line to see where it gets stuck? You can type this at the command line and share the output:

/opt/Local/local

I have tested Local 10.1.2 under Ubuntu 26 and could not reproduce it failing to start after a system restart.

Hi Nick, I followed your advice and launched Local from the terminal using `/opt/Local/Local , with this result:

local`.acer-nb04@NB04:/opt/Local$ ./local
[5801:0825/170628.762774:FATAL:sandbox/linux/suid/client/setuid_sandbox_host.cc:166] The SUID sandbox helper binary was found, but is not configured correctly. Rather than run without sandboxing I’m aborting now. You need to make sure that /opt/Local/chrome-sandbox is owned by root and has mode 4755.
Rilevato trace/breakpoint (core dump creato) ./local

so I re-entered the command, adding --no-sandbox

local`.acer-nb04@NB04:/opt/Local$ ./local --no-sandbox

and Local started up
but now there is a security issue !?
