Update to Local 6.4.1+5978 - Now unable to pull files from WP Engine

Issue Summary

After updating local to 6.4.1 I am unable to pull any files from WPEngine to local environment.

Troubleshooting Questions

  • Does this happen for all sites in Local, or just one in particular?

Yes. This happens for all sites being pulled from any instance/stage.

  • Are you able to create a new, plain WordPress site in Local and access it in a Browser?

Yes, new sites created in Local work normal.

Replication

Describe the steps that others can take to replicate this issue. If you have screenshots that can help clarify what is happening, please include them!

Open Local.
Select a site being hosted at WP Engine.
Click “Start Site and Pull” icon.
Verify correct site & select correct environment.
Select to Pull “all modified files” or “Only newer file” either selection was tested and does not work.
Tick or leave unticked “Include database” either selection was tested and does not work.
Click “Pull from WP Engine”
Wait for Green “Site Pulled” notification. Usually less than 3 seconds.
Attempt to Open Site
Received 403 error
Open Site Folder on local machine.
Verify no files are actually in app > public directory

System Details

  • Which version of Local is being used?
    6.4.1+5978

  • What Operating System (OS) and OS version is being used?

macOS 12.4 (21F79)

Security Reminder

Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Update:

This seams to be an issue between Local and WP Engine and existing API key.

I was able to resolve the file pull by disconnecting Local from WP Engine. Re-issuing all API keys for sites hosted. Reconnecting Local WP to WP Engine.

Once done, local was able to pull files.
