Webp image can't be load

Hello support, I have scanned the forum but I haven’t found anything useful to solve my issue.

I’m trying to load into Wordpress webp images, but the error I got is “This image cannot be processed by the web server. Convert it to JPEG or PNG before uploading.”

I’m using Local 6.7.0 + 6347 on a nginx server, 7.4.1 php version and Wordpress 6.2

How could I enable webp images?

I just did a test with the same site specs (with one exception - 7.4.30 PHP version) & did not receive a similar error.

Do you have any other plugins or themes on the site?

thanks for your reply.

I have switched to php 7.4.30 and I have been able to load and use webp format. So I can confirm that it was PHP 7.4.1 blocking that format.

Just for your info, these are the installed and active plugins:

  • oxygen builder
  • automatic.css
  • oxyextras
  • hydrogen pack

No themes active.
