You can use the export feature in Local (right click on the site name on local and select “Export”) or you can use plugins like All-in-One WP Migration (https://wordpress.org/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration/) or Duplicator (https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/).
They are both free, but If you want regular automatic backups, you will have to pay for one of those plugins (or other similar).
Thank you very much! I did the export last night, and I’m assiming that if something happens to the site I’m working on, I can easily import one of these exports to a new site.

Yes! All those three options makes a complete backup of your website, so you’re safe with any of them.
