Deleted old Cloud Backups, now Local fails to back up anything. Is there a way to reset what Local thinks is backed up back to zero?

What issue or error are you experiencing?

I removed old backups that were taking up space in my Google Drive but now backing up the site fails “Cloud Backup failed! There was an error while completing your backup”

What steps can be taken to replicate the issue? Feel free to include screenshots, videos, etc

  1. Have established backups in Google Drive
  2. Delete those backups
  3. Try to back up new again.

System Details

  • Local Version: Most Recent (not sure how to find this but I always keep up to date)

  • Operating System (OS) and OS version: Windows 11 24H2

Security Reminder
Local does a pretty good job of scrubbing private info from the logs and the errors it produces, however there’s always the possibility that something private can come through. Because these are public forums, always review the screenshots you are sharing to make sure there isn’t private info like passwords being displayed.

Sorry about this, @zacatero. You can edit Local’s sites.json to remove references to the old backups. New backups should then work again. The steps to follow are here:

This worked thank you so much!!
