I’d like to suggest a feature that could improve the workflow when using LocalWP.
Currently, the “One-click Admin” button automatically redirects to the default WordPress login URL. It would be really helpful if users had the option to customize this admin access URL — for example, in cases where the login path has been changed for security reasons.
Is this something that could be considered for a future update?
Thank you for creating this feature request @Trellat!
For clarity are you worried about the security of your Local installation? Or is it just that you normally hide the login on Production and want that to remain when in your Local environment as well? Do you use a specific plugin for this?
It’s not really about security on my local installation. The main reason is that I keep several blueprints prepared for new projects, and I like to leave them fully configured from the start.
Also, we sometimes pull down production sites to run tests locally, so it would be helpful not to have to change any configuration in those cases either.
I understand that disabling the Solid Security plugin resolves the situation, so that works as a workaround for now, but I thought it would be a nice implementation.
I think I’ve tested this before with the plugin WPS Hide Login and it still sent me into the dashboard with One Click enabled. If you have the plugin Solid Security enabled is it sending you to a 404 instead or some other error?
Also does it make a difference if you are Localhost versus Site Domains for your Router Mode?
Okay thank you for all of your communication here! I’ve shared this with our Dev team and we’ll continue to monitor this feature request for interest and feedback.
