I came here, at the behest of Support Chat, to post a question on how to get my Cloud Backups working from Google and what do I see but several topics on how they do not work. Sigh. This is frustrating because I can’t get Blueprints to work either. I just got a new laptop and I have around 4 sites that I would really like to get transferred over.
Suggestions on the easiest way to do this? Clearly the “easy” way to do it that is advertised by Local is not the way.
So you have some sites that you backed up using our Cloud Backups add-on on one machine, that you now want to get loaded onto a new machine. Is that correct?
Did you go through all the steps on our Help Doc here?
As a workaround, you can right-click the sites on your Local install from Machine A, and select Export. Once you have a zip copy of the site exported, you can upload it somewhere you can access on the other machine or send it to yourself through your preferred delivery method. Once you can access the Zip on Machine B you can simply drag and drop it into Local to reimport it.

Hi Nick,
That is correct. I did, of course, go through the article you linked first and your online Chat before coming here. The Chat directed me here for assistance. And what you mentioned, the export/import solution is what eventually worked for me to get my sites transferred over to my new laptop.
For what it’s worth, it appears that the when I backed them up to my Google drive, the entire public folder (inside app) was missing. Which of course explains why it would not restore it. That occurred with all three of my sites on Google.
