Importing a WordPress site into Local (Flywheel) for Mac (ARM) version 9.2.4+6788 fails with errors, despite the source site being functional. The import process does not complete successfully, preventing local development.
Steps to Reproduce
Export a WordPress site (including wp-content and database .sql file) from another environment into a zip file.
Open Local (Flywheel) on Mac (ARM).
Attempt to import the site using the “Import Site” feature.
Observe that the import process fails with an error message and the site is not accessible in Local.
Error messages I get:
“Imported site is a broken import. Attempting to repair the WordPress installation”
Hi @deyil! I’m glad the manual route did the trick! Sometimes things included in the zip file can confuse the native import. These could be extra site or database backups, core files, or a specialized plugin even. The manual import method will usually work as an alternative.
The thing is that this must be a bug as the zips are compressed by me using the SQL file and wp-content folder only. In other Mac device they work in importing, while in this particular one none works. It is not that it happens in a single site but in every one that I try to import. So I am reporting this because it must be some kind of a bug and also manual import for each site is time consuming.
So it only happens when you try to import the zips on this specific device, but when you test another device it works fine? What’s the other device OS/OS version?
Are any of these an employer issued device? Any security features?
The other device is iMac 2023, Apple M3, MacOS 15.4.1 (24E263).
It is not employer issued device. Security features only what comes with OS, so in both systems should be the same.
Responding back in thread here for any users searching. Currently we don’t offer MariaDB support for MacOS, only Windows. For those MacOS users interested in this we have a thread here you can vote, comment and follow:
